03/26/11 Gamboa crushes Solis On March 26, 2011 in Atlantic City, NJ Yuriorkis “El Ciclon de Guantanamo” Gamboa defeated Jorge “Coloradito” Solis by TKO victory at round 4 at 1:31 and retained his IBF/WBA World Featherweight titles. On paper, Jorge Solis, looked to be a fighter who might actually have presented as a challenge to Yuriorkis Gamboa. He certainly looked good on paper, with 40 victories, 2 defeats, 2 draws and 1 loss. But it isn't always the size of the resume that counts, but the content that is in it. Although Gamboa may have only had 19 fights under his belt, it was what he put into those 19 victories that made him stand out above the rest in his weight division. Gamboa is athletic, fierce, determined, focused, exciting and a little reckless inside the ring. This is what draws in large crowds, as well as, favorable odds. He not only attacks an opponent, he annihilates him! He finds a weak spot and takes him down. There are not many fighters with this skill; especially this well-formed.
